company description

Today we got together to create our company description. The method we used for creating it was by having a group brain storming session followed by one member typing it up and then the others reviewed it. Our company description was not a hard task because we followed along with the link provided with an example and used our market analysis.

market analysis

Our group met tonight to compose our market analysis for our theme parkselection. Each of us brainstormed and bounced off ideas off one another,and Katie wrote up the actual analysis. We used Google and explored SecondLife to find information about theme parks in Second Life. As a group weused a lot of the information we knew about businesses in general to come upwith a lot of the information. Completing the marketing analysis wassomewhat difficult because at times we were unsure of how to answer somequestions proposed in the extremely helpful marketing analysis link. Also,there were some things that were suggested on the website that did not applyto a Second Life business. We completed our marketing analysis the best waywe understood, and it helped us receive a better understanding of ourbusiness and target audience.

team meeting on Sunday March 2

Today we got together to discuss exactly what we wanted to do for our business on second life. In our meeting we discussed all the different ideas that we had and how we thought they would work in second life. Some ideas that came into play were having an insurance company, theme park, or even a night club. Previous ideas that we had were to open up a gun shop, or a bank. All of these would target different types of people. For the most part I think we came up with that a theme park would be the best way to go and this way we could target any age group. Also, a theme park gives us a greater variety when it comes to targeting those age groups. Overall a theme park usual targets families, which is good because many different type of people use SL and this gives a place for all of them to go. Next, this gives us room to play with different ideas that we have because theme parks offer so many different things. Therefore we could do theme days at the theme park- such as college day where college students go to have fun and meet other students from other school, open the theme park at night for concerts, do a character day where kids can go a meet there favorite characters, etc. The ideas are endless and this type of business lets us work with any idea that we might have.

The whole time we were together we stormed up the pros and cons of each business that we came up with and who they would target. Overall the theme park had the most pros and could target anyone we wanted it to.
